Charitable Contributions
Utahns may contribute to approved charitable causes on their individual income tax returns.
In 2003, over 23,000 donations were made totaling in excess of $270,000 to aid wildlife, homeless Utahns, ill children, schools and higher education libraries. You do not need to receive a refund in order to contribute to these funds.
Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund: Contribute $2 or more. Contributions provide funds to the Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund for services and programs statewide to help Utahns become self-sufficient.
Kurt Oscarson Children's Organ Transplant Fund: Contribute $1 or more. Contributions provide fi nancial assistance to the families of children in need of organ transplants.
Utah Nongame Wildlife Fund: Contribute $1 or more. Contributions provide funding for management, preservation, protection, and perpetuation of nongame wildlife species.
School District and Nonprofit School District Foundation: Contribute $1 or more. Contributions provide funds to private, nonprofi t school district foundations established
to promote various activites.
Utah College of Applied Technology: Contribute $1 or more. Contributions provide funds to a campus of the Utah College of Applied Technology.
Uniform School Fund: Contribute $1 or more to the Uniform School Fund.
Wolf Depredation Fund: Contribute $1 or more. Contributions provide funding to
be used for payments for livestock depredation by wolves and for wolf management, as permitted by federal law.
