Stefan is an online Master of Architecture student entering his final semester, with plans to graduate in Fall 2025. Originally from Macedonia, he moved to the United States with his family to pursue his passion for architecture and further his education. Like many BAC graduate students, Stefan has balanced the demands of full-time work, family life, and advanced study鈥攅mbodying the perseverance and dedication that define the BAC community.
When Jim Ansara, Hon'25, walked across the stage to accept an Honorary Degree at the 2025 BAC Commencement, he felt seen and validated. Jim, who founded Shawmut Design and Construction, next chapter lead to the creation of Build Health International (BHI). The not-for-profit is on a mission 鈥渢o improve access to and build capacity for dignified, affordable, and high-quality healthcare infrastructure in resource-constrained settings around the world.鈥
As the recipient of the 2025 AIA/ASCA Practice and Leadership Award, the institution has long embraced adaptive, diverse practices and competency-focused innovation. This experience begins even before classes start: new student orientation includes firm visits where students meet practicing architects and connect with emerging professionals.
At one hundred years old, Franco Vitiello, Hon'25, '68, is the oldest living BAC alumnus. Franco completed his studies at the BAC while taking night classes, working full-time, and parenting four daughters with his wife, Maria. His work can be seen all over Boston and beyond the United States.
